I keep hearing supporters of this fight saying that this fight is happening because the people asked for it.

Aside from Floyd and Connor.....who asked for this fight?

Nope boxing doing just fine. Lol at boxing still recovering from Pacquiao -Mayweather but Floyd about to make another 100+million. The purses are up all around boxing. You meant to say Boxing is recovering from that crap GBP been putting out. If anything boxing recovering from that Chavez Canelo nightmare where the fans boo'd all nite lol I didn't hear the boo's like that for Maywether Pac. I think I will take the Barclays executive word over a blogger lmao...Mcgregor Mayweather will bring more money, views, and sponsors to boxing than any of GBP or boring Canelo fights. And you right boxing would of had a perfect year but Canelo Chavez messed that up.. Funny y'all try to forget that fight because Haymon wasn't involved lol..Cotto-Canelo still made top 15 in live gate..and 60 million in revenue about 5 months after Pac-Mayweather lol..Nothing was wrong with boxing fans just wasn't feeling the match ups.

One thing that I absolutely agree with is that we (legitimate boxing fans) should use this time to try to bring casual fans into the sport. We can *****, cry, and complain about the fight happening or we can use it as an opportunity to grow the sport. If you don't want to watch it, don't. However, harping on the bad fights takes away from the great fights we have gotten this year. Use the MayGregor fight as a way to show people other fights. Direct attention to the other great fights Showtime has put up this year. The constant complaining only turns people off from the sport.

ok, so how do we know he wasn't high when he sent his open letter to fans? Either way, yes mayweather vs mcgregor is a cash grab that won't be competitive. But so was Canelo vs khan and Canelo vs Chavez jr. Despite experience, anybody who knows boxing knew those 2 guys had as much chance of beating Canelo as McGregor does of beating mayweather. 0
