It's actually a good thing if Ward surpass Mayweather. It's kinda sad that a fight with an MMA is the biggest news in boxing this year.

Floyd is not fighting Canelo or LLL. There's no chance. Both of those guys are HUGE in comparison to Floyd and Floyd is 40...he'd be 41 by the time they fought. Most great fighters are just about through at 35 with only a handful having meaningful wins beyond that age...especially against significantly larger opponents.

Hypothetically it would be an incredible win, but it just doesn't make sense as neither guy are marketable enough for Floyd and probably never will be. Canelo could..but they already fought and it was a one-sided dud (although I think Canelo wins outright in a rematch - Canelo really has improved in every fight out imo)

You want him to go from 100m for a no risk fight with McGregor to fighting a guy 15lbs heavier than him that has a rock for a head and fight for peanuts?

Why are people acting like Floyd hasn't already dominated Canelo? What would beating him again prove?

Don't think it's sad. Connor is the first ever UFC champion at 2 weight classes simultaneously. He's a great fighter (MMA) and has a very marketable brand.

Floyd was the face of boxing for many years although he no longer is. This fight, however, does give him some more spotlight.

I do believe this is Floyd's final fight and I don't have a problem with him fighting a cash-out fight even if it's likely to be very one-sided.

After this (somewhat circus) fight we get Canelo-LLL so I'm looking forward to that big time.

If Floyd was 33 or younger I would want that, but at 40 I'm happy to even see him compete. There's a reason why what Bernard did was so unique. Most fighters - even ATG/GOAT SRR - do not win meaningful fights after 36 or 37. Reaction time, speed, conditioning, etc...it all goes IN TIME and no fighter can avoid that.

So I do not expect Floyd to fight again - ever - after this sparring match. We get Canelo-LLL in September though so I'm looking forward to that

... What? It's not even close. Floyd is still miles ahead of him.

I don't think Mayweather has to do anything to be considered better than Ward. He has a great boxing record right now. He is only fighting Conor because it's such an easy way to make 100 million bucks. Who can blame him or Conor for making so much money for one fight? Mayweather will not fight the Canelo-GGG winner at 160 pounds for fear of losing. If you recall he made a young green Canelo fight at 152 before he would agree to fight him. Mayweather is over 40 years old and a natural welterweight. In my opinion, he can't walk on water. He is a damn good fighter but he is too old and too small to beat the Canelo-GGG winner. He isn't superman. I think history will remember him as being better than Ward because he is better than Ward.

Floyd's done after McGregor bro. He's not fighting anymore after #50

Floyd has fought everyone pretty much. This McGregor fight will add to his pockets but not his legacy. Still he already has fought pretty much everyone. So he doesn't have to fight anymore. Plus the man is 40. He's only fighting McGregor and then he's going to officially retire and promote and build his roster.

Don't expect Floyd to stick around after the McGregor fight.
