You have a point here, Larry. Most fighters would've unloaded on him in that crunch position. And, the first time Kovalev turned his back and walked away, Weeks was within his rights to stop the fight. If anything, he gave Kovalev more chances to get back into the fight.
[One thing I kept noticing in both fights is how much bigger Kovalev is than Ward. He's a cruiserweight disguised as a lightheavy, and that's why he gasses mid-point, plus those body punches. Damn!]Comment

Gonna have to borrow bitchery.That's the irony. Ward was supremely merciful in that moment. He was the epitome of control and professionalism.
And these little internet cowards would prefer to mob up against Ward in their white sheets with their torches and pitchforks.. I've been on this site off and on for more than ten years and I have never seen such bitchery.
And yeah, I am kinda shocked at how whiny some folks are getting.
