Actually, no. Ward doesn't do it after taking a beating. He does it as a part of his defense. Very different. Shrinking in the corner is not akin to trying to avoid punches while on defense. And yes, it is illegal especially when you aren't protecting yourself as Kovalev wasn't. Which is why he was stopped.

It's illegal to bend below the waist and Ward does it "as part of his defense".

So you are saying Ward is a dirty fighter with illegal tricks Integrated in his style?

      Ok. I agree.

a low blow doesnt have to necessarily hit you directly in the balls. theres a line that the ref says is legal and ward went below that line. therefore its an illegal punch. you are probably a man so you should know that being hit anywwhere around that area can reverberate down to your genital region. just try it. give yourself a good punch above your genitals but below your belly. you will feel it down there..........i hope i got you punching yourself low lol

The final punch. The fight ending punch was illegal. Yes.

          I agree.

floyd wasnt protecting himself after judah low blowed him. so if the ref had stopped that fight in judahs favor you would post the same thing right? why are you blaming the guy being fouled? a lot of guys hit the canvas after being hit low. should those now be knockdowns?

Weeks said he stopped the fight because Kovalev wasn't fighting back. Not because of the final punch which appeared low. Kovalev stopped fighting back after the right hook landed in the corner. Then he just turtled.

NSAC Exec. and Ref. said that the shots were borderline punches, thus making it legal.Let's be honest, Krusher wanted none of the body punches. He should fight Stevenson next, get the belt and fight Ward in a unification fight.I think Ward has his number. This is boxing where a single shot can change the dynamic of a fight.

he wasnt figthing back because he was in pain from low blows....usually a fighter is given 5 minutes rest and the other figther is punished for that. kovalev ws moving aroudn and defending after being hurt. he only shelled up after the 3 low blows ward landed. maybe he was "buying time" but he deserve that time since weeks said the bottom fo the belt was low in the intros. maybe he just got caught up in the emotion and forgot his own rules?
