Ok damage control this. You can clearly see KOvalevs belly button if the video is paused at 8:08 towards 8:10+.

Now, the ref, seeing this, pounts below the belly button and claims a punch there is ok. That is wrong but even if we are to take the refs word that the shot is ok, a number of thsoe shots went in on the hublot or whatever it was that was written, literally between the two legs.

now, how does one justify that as correct? When we know Kovs trunks were not too high. Did Kovalev bring his trunks up so high between rounds thatthe hublot sign was no over his belly button? lol

Guess it's all in how you choose to interpret the instructions. I take Weeks pointing to the silver belt line on Kov and saying "here is good," to mean it's okay to punch there.
