Kovalev was crying about every body shot. Admittedly the last one was low, but Kovalev was b*tching about legal body work throughout the fight before that. I don't know what he was doing in there. How do you go from guaranteeing to end Ward's career to crying about legal body punches in an effort to get point deductions or a DQ win? Kovalev got punked. I don't know where he goes from here.
Andre "Son of Gonads" Ward will never really be P4P until he shows he can beat a decent opponent without low blows, head butts, crooked refs, arm-clamping and corrupt judges.
When I came to the boxing forums about 10 years ago, and I saw that the good white boxers like Wladimir Klitschko and Joe Calzaghe were constantly discredited and disparaged by black fans (and by self-loathing white guys).
The boxing establishment in the USA favors black athletes over whites, Asians and Hispanics.
Some examples:
Kessler-Ward ref
Ward not needing to travel during the Super Six
Kovalev-Ward I & II
Pacquiao-Bradley I
Rigo-Flores last night
Max Kellerman's and Teddy Atlas' commentary.
I see African-Americans as being very privileged in boxing, the perfect example of this being Andre Ward. I root for the disadvantaged and the underdogs, regardless of race, and I'd love to see fair treatment for Asians, Whites, and Hispanics in boxing.
Exactly. I am black but I almost exclusively root for white boxers since most black fans are so racist against white boxers. And most of the black boxers have something hateable about them (Ward never winning a big fight without controversy, etc.).
