Bad stoppage, but Ward is very skillful, and one of those smart dirty fighters you don't always see fights dirty at times, like Holyfield and Hopkins.

2 low blows from ward and kov is grabbing his crotch from pain then the big right hand and kov is still grabbing his crotch lol.. then 3 more low blows in a row and ref stops fight. Horrible.

if you look during the fight (not after when he pulled them down) kovalevs trunks were really high. you couldnt even see his belly button. when a fighters trunks are above his bellybutton, punches to the beltline are clean.

one or two shots strayed a bit low, they werent really bad low blows (on the cup) but they were low none the less. but thats not what decided the fight. kovalev was getting hurt and complaining about clean bodyshots long before then.

the stoppage was good. dont get me wrong, i would have loved to see kovalev get his ass whupped some more. but ultimately he was going to get stopped. ward took his heart, kovalev didnt want to be in there anymore and was looking for a way out. ref blessed him by giving him some fresh excuses for his latest ass whuppin at the hands of the p4p king.

if he comes back for a third ward will break him again. he is just too tough and smart for sir gay.
