The difference is North Americans are really hypocrites and turn their heads when people tell them the truth about things.

One small example and it is recorded in the history records:

If the people that lead the world were good people, the world would be a good place.

The world would be a good place if there weren't ANY people leading it... And of course America is just as corrupt if not more corrupt than Russia. Capitalism is definitely not any more fair of an economic system than communism. But the key difference is that America has us descendants of the kidnapped and enslaved black people of Alkebulan aka Africa. The horrors that our ancestors endured for hundreds of years for us to still be here are evident in some of the things we are able to do and achieve. There is a nobility in the black American story that Russians and Europeans cannot claim. A lot of people died, slaved and were exploited for an Andre Ward to achieve what he has achieved. And its cheap to try to take that away from him with a few strokes of the pen (or the keyboard) to insinuate that he cheated or used illegal drugs to reach his professional level as an elite athlete.

The fight was stopped a little early but kov didn't look like he wanted to fight on and yes the punches were borderline but let's be honest ward didn't hit him in the balls and kovs trunks were up kinda high.

The stoppage was handled terribly.

But those punches were borderline, not "way south of the border."

And Kovalev was done. It was just a matter of time before Ward ended him.
I just wish Weeks had given Andre the opportunity to do it clearly and decisively.

The problem was Kovalev had more or less given up & the ref is in a tough spot there with a guy giving all the signs he's done, but not going down.

It was kinda like one of those situations where a guy is too tough for his own good, but keeps getting punched & doesn't go down. If there is a standing 8 rule then the ref can jump in. If there isn't a standing 8, like last night, you gotta do what Weeks did or not protect a guy asking for help with every word of his body language.

So I don't love the stoppage, but I understand the stoppage even if it likely ruined Ward getting a more conclusive W that he was on his way to getting.
