Ward had Kovolov folded on the ropes and looked at the ref as to say "He's hurt"

That was a real classy move by a good Christian man with integrity. He had Kovolov 100% folded down on near the ropes and looks at the ref as to say "Do I keep going or not?" Ward could have easily turned into a complete savage with all that smack that Kovolov was talking and continued beating down poor Kovolov. He could have seriously injured the defeated man. But he backed off as if to say "Let him live".

Ward proves once again that he's the classiest person in the sport. He's a true gentlemen that boxing needed right now.

It was also quite gracious of Ward to let Kovalev off the hook when Kovalev complained about those fake low blows even though the ref didn't say to stop.

    Initial Round 8 body shots

Those were low, and Kov had taken many prior low blows.

That left hand at the beginning of the clip (1:48) was a clear low blow.

This is a GREAT example, and this wasn't even from the knockout part.

Also, people tend to forget there were a few instances where Kovlolov literally TURNED HIS ENTIRE BACK to Ward, and Ward never continued hitting him as other fighters would have.

He was actually very classy and showed Kovalev quite a bit of respect In the post fight Interview with Kellerman which Is surprising considering all of the derogatory comments Kovalev made about Ward leading up to this fight. One thing Kovalev can't say about Ward any longer Is that he Is the Son Of Judges.

And that's why I don't have an issue with the stoppage or that last low blow. It was all on Kovalev. He was looking for a way out, not defending himself at all. Horrible body language. What were Ward and Weeks supposed to do. Hold him up and tell him to fight? I dont get the controversy. The dude basically quit.

Exactly! Kovalev quit on his own.
