He literally only has a 1-2 jab, cross, against Ward. Ward timed that **** by round 3. Kovalev has NO left hook, or 1-2-3 combination punching when he faced a guy like Ward. It was SO EASY for Ward to time, and nullify the right hand of Kovalev's.

Ward conceded the jab to negate the cross. OMG Ward might be the best body puncher in the game. Brilliant stuff!

Yeah his ability to adapt wasnt very good. Did the same thing over and over and got too predictable. First rounds were good, he used feints to confuse Ward.

Because he couldnt land clean, Kovalev got very frustrated, had some defensive lapses and Ward capitalized on them. Then he tried some new **** out. Fighting from a different stance, trying to rumble with Ward on the inside, but Kovalevs ability to fight inside is not good at all. He cant use short and tight punches and leaves his body wide open.

Some of the body punches were low, but Kovalev was also really bothered by the clean body punches. You could sense it in body language. Overreacting, turning around. Not a good look from Kovalev.

He is still very hard to beat. The first fight was close and Ward is a special fighter, but he is far from being a complete fighter.
