Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas - Andre Ward (32-0, 16 KOs) stopped Sergey Kovalev (30-2, 26 KOs) in eight rounds to retain the IBF, WBO, WBA light heavyweight titles. The two boxers met last November at T-Mobile Arena, with Ward getting off the floor in the second round to win a close and some felt controversial twelve round unanimous decision over Kovalev to capture the three titles. All three judges scored it 114-113 for Ward.
