I overheard several co-workers talking about this fight today. Which is funny considering I'm thr boxing fan on my job. And to a man, every last one of them is picking McGregor. So yes, the fans wanted it. Only hardcore boxing fans are the only folks that seem to have a problem with itLast edited by Bronx2245; 06-16-2017, 11:32 PM.Comment

This is exactly what's going on at my job! No one on my job is talking about Ward vs. Kovalev II, or Canelo vs. GGG, but already my supervisor is setting up a fight party to watch Mayweather vs. McGregor! He's even willing to pay $100 for the PPV? When I told him I wasn't interested in the fight, his reply was "I thought you were a boxing fan?" It's crazy! FYI, I work on a Naval Base, and the sailors (mostly MMA fans) are hyped!Comment

"He's a hell of a competitor" is Mayweather's default comment about his opponent.
Floyd is basically the Trump of boxing, all hype and no substance. He lies his ass off to sell a fight and people eat up the hype as if a fight with Mayweather hasn't disappointed before. In the end, given portions of the general public, MMA and boxing fans are likely to buy the PPV or go to the fight, you can't blame Floyd for taking advantage of an easy multi-million dollar payday. There's a reason Jerry Springer and reality TV still exists and it's not because it's quality programming. People like to see a circus and/or train wreck.Comment

I feel you! I think Broner vs. Garcia and GGG vs. Canelo are 2 of the best fights that could possibly be made, and yet all we're going to hear about is Mayweather vs. McGregor!Comment
