    "Size" doesn't always just mean weight.

    Reach...

    Conor = 74"
    Oscar = 73"
    Chris van Heerden = 72"
    Mayweather = 72"
    Zab Judah = 72"
    Canelo = 70.5"
    Mosely = 70"
    Maidana = 69"
    Berto = 68.5"
    Pacquiao = 67"
    Marquez = 67"
    Cotto = 67"
    Hatton= 65"

      I'd say that the vast majority are realistic with a "cat who swallowed the canary" kind of disposition, in general. We can't believe it's actually happening. It's a HUGE deal for MMA. It's almost like validation for the sport in a weird way. People are mostly talking about how big of an event it'll be, the money, the hype.

      Regarding the match-up itself...
      The thought is: "Well yeah, Floyd better fccking win, it's a Boxing match. But if it were a 'real' fight..."

      And there are some of us who think Conor has a chance.

        Yeah, I think when/if Mayweather wins, they will have that safety net of realizing that the fight would have a totally different outcome if it occurred in the Octagon, and they would be 100% right. I would say the fight would end much quicker in the Octagon as in less than 90 seconds. Mac would take Floyd to the ground in seconds and it would end fast. But in the ring, I'm sure some UFC fans will be very disappointed that Mac didnt try to negotiate a two fight deal with two different set of rules. Granted no way in hell does Floyd agree to the Octagon but UFC fans would have appreciated Mac at least trying to get that fight.

        A Floyd win in August still is embarrassing for Boxing and if Floyd wins as expected and Mac calls him out to fight in the Octagon, it is going to look really bad for Floyd to not accept (which he wont) - so between fighting a guy with ZERO boxing pro fights and Floyd not fighting a second fight on Mac's terms - that is not a good look. This will be a black eye for one or both sports. All they had to do was agree two a two-fight deal and both sports would have kept their pride.

          I just noticed...

          Sherdog, which is the biggest MMA site, just added a Sub-Forum specifically for Mayweather-McGregor because there are so many Threads about that fight popping up in the main MMA forum.

            The only way I see Floyd losing, or the fight being semi-competitive, is if the fix is in, and Floyd agrees to take a dive in or to stretch this thing out into a trilogy.

            I've seen footage of McGregor sparring, and even shadow boxing, and it would be an insult to C level boxers to call him a C level boxer. So even at 40, if Floyd gets old overnight, its hard to envision him going from one of the 3-4 best fighters in the world his last time out. To losing to a boxing novice.

            I'm actally concerned for Conor's health. This is a big event. And I think there's a very good chance he's gonna take a beating.
