When Chavez sr (Oscar's idol) was 65-0( 3 fights before he fought meldrick Taylor) he fought a guy with a record of 0-1. At the time chavez was an active in his prime unbeaten world champion who had already beaten guys like Edwin rosario, Roger mayweather, bazooka limon and Jose Luis ramirez. Aside from the fact that this is a money grab ppv, is there any big difference in these 2 situations?

It's not a win for Boxing at all; it is a huge embarrassment to be exact. Boxing will be looked down for staging something that is such a huge mismatch that it has been deemed a circus act and nothing more....and a money grab on top of that.

None whatsoever......he also fought a 0-0 fighter and a 1-15 fighter. Chavez a mexican legend doe.
