I'd be cool if boxing stole a bunch of sh^t that worked better from MMA like MMA stole the sh^t that worked from boxing years ago & bet against the stuff that doesn't work so well.
-longer rounds
-less rounds
-lighter gloves
-win bonuses
-fight of the night bonuses
-less weight divisions
-scoring aggression (f#ck that subjective term effective aggression) & shots landed over defense & ring generalship
I'd also like to see less holding, clinching & that bs that is stuff in MMA, but boxing SHOULD'NT allow.
Those are just off the top of my head all of those things would make boxing more fun & fan friendly & I'm sure I could mention several more if I thought about it more.
There was a huge benefit by the UFC in having the ability to learn from what works & doesn't work in boxing that I think people don't fully appreciate or maybe even realize.
I think 3 minutes is perfect. Up the number of rounds back up to 15 would be good though.
Yeah, agreed. There have been quite a few fights lately where I felt like three extra rounds on the end would've made the result a lot more conclusive without boring the viewers
The way fighters been getting brain injuries lately, you want longer fights and more rounds? If anything, limit the damage a fighter takes in the ring. Or limit the head damage anyway. Not sure how but they can figure it out. 12 rounds was created literally because of a death in the ring
