That's one possible scenario. Another is that his tint was not legal and they were doing their job? I'm not being naïve here, I know the reputation of southern cops. But, if you are a black man in the south and want to avoid being hassled by cops, it would make sense not to break the law. Cops look at things with a "where there is smoke there is fire" mentality. If you are driving around with illegal tint, you are probably breaking some other law too...in this case they were correct. I don't agree with him being hassled on a weed charge, but he accepted the risk that comes with breaking laws.
