  • The Most Significant Boxing Match in History? -- Mayweather-McGregor?

If, if, if McGregor beats Mayweather, where would that bout rank in terms of significance, importance, in Boxing history?

If Mayweather wins, then the repercussions would obviously not be all that significant... it's expected that Mayweather wins. But I think the ramifications of a Conor McGregor, an MMA fighter, a Boxing amateur, upsetting the Boxing world would be earth-shattering for the sport. Mayweather being who he is, 49-0, TBE, etc... this might be the most significant bout ever.

And in either case, it might well be one of the biggest, if not the biggest money fight ever.

McGregor is a good stand up fighter, with a pretty good chin, and good punching power. If he catches Floyd with a good shot and decks him, props to him. I see it happening if Floyd becomes too ****y and makes a mistake. As for being a significant boxing match. Not really. Floyd was retired for 2 years, and this is purely a huge money/entertainment fight.

If McGregor defeated Mayweather it would be considered one of the greatest moments in the history of sport on planet Earth and would elevate McGregor to cartoonish levels of iconic. He'd be side by side with Pele, Michael Jordan, Secretariat and Babe Ruth.

100% serious, if McGregor manages to KO Floyd he would become a living legend.

People/media would pick on Floyd's ego 1000 times worse than they do with LeBron.

Floyd will come into this fight extremely defensive. No way does he open up enough to get KO'd by Connor.

Connor's only chance is to land a flush Hail Mary.

if floyd gets KO'd somehow, the guy will kill himself, i'm convinced of that, not joking. he kills himself. dude is too insecure.

with that being said, no way in hell mcgregor KOs floyd. in fact, no way in hell he wins a single round.

I'm looking more forward to the trash talking than I am the fight.
