you just watched mayweather dominate the last decade without using power as a weapon bro.

power is a weapon that most fighters get by without.

Maidana beat Alexander no doubt in my mind! Why the hell was the fight over 10 rounds though ??

He has the hand speed to do it and the chin to take counter punches when someone times him!

His stamina was never questioned but his power and style has been!

He's good at timing slow fighters and waiting for a counter but can't do that against the likes of today's welterweights if you don't have the power!

If only his coach had the sense to see that Devon has no power at welter and that he needs to change his style, right around the Khan fight I'd say!

Fuck reflexes, the guy isn't a good mover so he can't just counter punch like he use to anymore!

He needs to up his cardio and just start throwing 100 punches a round cuz everyone at welter would beat him easily!

Garcia, Peterson, Thurman, Spence, Porter again, heck even a shopworn Brook would!

His best bet to get a title is a way past prime Pacquiao and I doubt he could beat even that version of Pacquiao!

He might as well move back down to 140 and hope Crawford moves up sooner than later!

He was a good fighter in his time but the coach should've made major changes when Devon couldn't KO Khan!

Whether the drugs are illegal or prescription.

I've seen it ruin many once promising lives.
Exactly. Hopefully he was able to overcome them, and get his career back on track.

I probably said at one point that Alexander (along with Berto) needs to fuck off from boxing, but for some reason I always did like his style when he was on it – particularly the Witter and Urango fights. Then again, Kotelnik and Matthysse whooped him in his prime, which were real robberies.

An Alexander who actually uses his straight left hand/left uppercut, and doesn't yelp like a bitch when pittypatting his jab, can be a very good boxer. Shame we never saw that at welterweight.

If he can make 140 I think he can be competitive again. Outside of Crawford, he can hang with anyone at 140 right now. At 147 he has no chance against any of the title holders. If he just wants some good paydays then there are good fights he can make versus Matthysse, Peterson, rematch Khan, Vargas, Broner.

I say there is no truth to the prescription pill addiction. Just an excuse for losing. There is no cure for being an average fighter

Sad story, thought he was shot to bits but he is so young, hope he gets back on the straight and narrow he has some big wins.

I won't comment on the first part cuz I don't really know.
                      The second part.
He does good against punchers. Every skilled guy he faced he lost to.
He's not average but then again he's not that great either and really never was.
