Featherweight Daniel Franco had additional surgery on Monday night and remains in a coma in an Iowa hospital. As previously reported, Franco was viciously knocked out in the eight round by Jose Haro in the main event of a card at the WinnaVegas Casino in Sloan, Iowa. After the fight, Franco was rushed to a hospital and underwent emergency surgery to stop two brain bleeds.

Man this hits way close to home. Im not gonna lie, a part of me wants to hang my boys gloves up because of this. I will pray for him and I encourage all to do so. Take it from some1 that knows Daniels fam, they are good people and huge supporters of the sport!

Did anybody see this fight? I saw a quick vid of the punch but it didn't seem all that bad tbh. Did he take additional punishment early?

I'm located in Fontana, I don't really know about boxers in our area but it's definitely sad to hear about something like this. Hopefully he makes a great recovery.

I remember back in 09 I took my nephew to spar with this kid. I remember talking to his dad I remember him telling me that they were moving their gym from Victorville to Ontario or Ranch Cucamonga one of those cities . Makes me not wanting to train another nephew who's 5 , but waiting for him to get older
