Yarde has some serious physical strength. In that sense, he reminds me of a young David Telesco.

He only had twelve amateur bouts, but stirred up a bit of hype because he won eleven of them by KO. Frank Warren clearly believes he's a marketable personality
His power and athleticism make him dangerous but I don't see anything special in his skills. If he beats this Hungarian fella then I'd like to see him vs Bob Ajisafe. If he stopped him then I'd be more inclined to jump on the bandwagonComment

Yarde has vaporized the eye test. The only thing he needs to pass is the chin and heart test now. Once he passes that I fear for everyone in the division.Comment

I'm with you my friend, which is why Skeete/Eggington II has to happen with both British & EBU title's on the line! The IBF has the awkwardly named "East/West Europe title," which I had never heard of until it started cropping up in Northern Ireland this month for some reason
But everyone knows that the EBU is the only one that matters anyway. The only division where it's arguable is at welterweight, where Skeete holds the WBO and Eggington the EBU, despite Skeete having beaten Eggington pretty soundly last yearComment

Consider the level of comp.
You don't even know if he will pass the test.Comment

Well it's something at least - grab the WBO Euro belt (no matter how scammy it is), and you're effectively guaranteed a spot on their top 15.
In this case, Baranyi is ranked #10 - Yarde will at least take that spot, if not leap frog. This strap is really just a ticket punch to being considered for the real one - which he is on track to get a look at in 18 months or so anyway.Comment

[QUOTE=Kigali;17756209]He's only ten fights in, nothing wrong with the competition if you consider that. The fact is, to have the kind of skill, poise, and ring IQ that has with only 22 fights in his entire pro AND amateur career tells us A LOT about his talent. Not to mention the incredible athleticism and power that he possesses. To hate or criticize Yarde at this point is just plain criminal.
No body with only 22 fights, 12 of which were amateur fights, should be anywhere near as good as Yarde has been thus far. The boy has got mad talent, that aint even debatable. His chin and heart are the only things in question.
Yes, I don't know if he will pass that test, but if he does, ooooh boy!Comment
