Industry rumors have exploded that a deal is close to being finalized for Conor McGregor's cross-sports boxing match against Floyd Mayweather, after multiple outlets revealed that Mayweather Promotions placed a hold on the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for August 26. The undefeated five division champion - who fought at the famous casino venue for the final dozen bouts of his career - came out of retirement in April to face UFC lightweight champion McGregor under boxing rules. Mayweather retired from the sport in September 2015.

Well, I am still going to buy it. It's probably going to be one sided but I'm still curious to see if Conor can come up with something to make it more interesting.

Great news. I was wondering when Davis will fight next. I wanna see him face a strong opponent, and maybe fight a champion at 135 after this.

Hell no he won't come up with something to make it interesting!!! We are talking the supposed best fighter ever against a guy who has never even fought 1 amateur boxing fight... If Floyd had already broke the record of 50-0 then yeah, I might watch. But since this is him taking the easiest possible route to 50-0 I cannot support this at all!!! It's actually quite disgusting and he will now go down as a disgrace to the SPORT instead of TBE... There is so many better opponents, at least for this one take a damn chance you coward!!! I wouldn't even tune in if it was free...

This would be the perfect way for Mayweather to end his career; the ultimate low risk, high reward fight. No doubt a bunch of suckers are gonna pay for this circus. (not including anyone/fanboys who like to watch Mayweather fight blatantly overmatched opponents, of course)
