Is this seriously a real fight? I know Bruce Lee was a god but man, this just looks like he's completely toying with that guy.

I believe the guy in the video with Bruce Lee is Vic Moore - 10th Dan Black Belt in something, can't remember what. But a hugely respected pioneer of martial arts - I think he was one of the first to mainstream "kickboxing" in the Western World.

IIRC, this video is the back end of a demonstration day - where Bruce Lee famously told Vic "I'm going to throw a punch to your face, all you have to do is block it". Vic couldn't - every time, Bruce stopped his fist an inch or so from Vic's face.

While we will never know for sure how Bruce would do in today's MMA or Boxing - had he trained accordingly - his hand speed, reactions and work ethic make me think he could succeed.

Heck, it was only 20 or so years ago, a skinny dude named Royce Gracie was on top of the MMA mountain.

Bruce Lee should be respected and admired for his philosophy towards martial arts and fighting in general. I always got the sense that he trained for real life fighting and defense, not so much for a sport with rules. I know some Krav Maga guys that would get schooled in a boxing or jujitsu amateur bout but would destroy combat sports guys in a no rules-anything goes type of fight.

street fight with no rules? bruce wins. remember "no rules". bruce always talks about hitting opponents in the eye, groin, etc. in a real combat fight where as for kimbo, he's strictly stand up.

ZZZZzzzzz All that wood and brick breaking in martial arts videos is bull****, They use weak materials, i've seen videos of 4 years old breaking boards.

plenty of videos of bats being broke... of course not by 4 years old....

they also make different wood pieces for different ages espeically younger ones since their bones aren't even fully developed yet.

There's a point to breaking boards.

I do feel bad however, for those students who go to schools who emphasize it.

no way it was just some light sparring. If even that i think the goal in here was for the guy to try and hit bruce as much as he could...

show me a video of lee fighting and tell me that's what you think he could take floyd mayweather in a fight.

In a no rules, no barring street fight, Mayweather would be lifeless in very short order. This isnt pillow fist fighting, this is deadly skills aimed to immobilize and kill. I guarantee you Lee knew all points on the body if struck with precision would end a fight against a boxer and could hospitalize them in seconds. Mayweather does not know areas of the body on how to rupture organs and he sure as hell has not perfected the lateral thrust kick or any kick for that matter. Dont anyone think for one second Mayweather would last more than a matter of seconds against someone who is an expert on how to kill someone. In a boxing ring, Mayweather can beat just about anyone. In a street fight with a 10 degree black belt, Mayweather gets carried out on a stretcher if he is lucky! Let alone what Bruce Lee could do to him.

That is 100% Fact!!! Grand masters, 10 degree black belts, etc., are taught how to rupture an organ, how to kill!! They spend years perfecting how to render an opponent disabled in seconds. In a street fight no rules, a boxer would be out of his element in a huge way and learn very quickly what a near death experience would feel like. High level martial artists are trained on how to kill a man.
