Comments Thread For: McGuigan: Spence The Real Deal, Only a Moron Says Brook Quit

Former world champion and fight promoter Barry McGuigan has given high praise to both Errol Spence and Kell Brook. Last month, before a crowd of 27,000 at Bramall Lane in Sheffield, Spence (22-0, 19 KOs) pulled off an eleven round stoppage of Brook (36-2, 25 KOs) to capture the IBF welterweight championship.

He definitely quit. The real question is whether or not he had a good reason to quit. I suspect that he did. He quit when he couldn't see straight anymore, at a point of the fight where he was taken

Well he quit because Spence's fists damaged him. It wasn't a doctor or a corner stoppage.

In short, boxing fans suck. There is no pleasing them. This fight wasn't ppv and beyond lived up to expectations. It was a much better fight than Floyd vs pac, Canelo vs Chavez jr which were 2 highly anticipated ppv fights and it was better than garcia vs Thurman which was marketed as the biggest welterweight fight that could be made this yr. They put on a great show and the better man won. The end.

Big difference in you feeling same injury in the 7th that dr told you last time you could go blind from and it got worse each round

Barry doing what Barry does, calling anyone who disagrees with him names. Brook did quit, by definition of stopping when he could've got up. Now whether he was justified is something else. I think he was. But yeah he quit
