The fight is obviously going to happen. McGregor hasn't defended his LW title, they were looking for an interim champion and there is to much damn $ to be made. Mayweather as you can see was only 148lbs heavy ON FIGHT NIGHT against Maidana, who was 165lbs.

The above link shows the Tale of the tape of Floyd Mayweather vs Canelo in 2013 september. As you can see, Floyd's fight night weight is 150lbs on showtime scales, same as the 150lbs against Ortiz on HBO scales (before you claim he bought off showtime).

He was 149lbs against Baldomir (first link above) and 146lbs ON FIGHT NIGHT against Judah (again first link in this post).
