America is over cautious about doping largely due to the Balco scandal. International, they don't believe in taking away people's livelihoods just to send a political message to those who use PEDs.

Just look at how much taxpayer money is wasted going after guys like Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Lance Armstrong, etc. Who hurt NOBODY.

American priorities are screwed up, not just in boxing.

I'm not advocating that one fighter get an unfair advantage. I'm saying, if they want to juice, legalize it, charge for it, let them have at it. Now you're back at an even playing field instead of guys exchanging who-knows-what under the table, AND you might actually save a life rather than these fighters getting debilitating injuries.

I'm sure he was all smiles, like a kid that just got away with faking his grades for his parents

He's only really been busted once. The first time he was well within legal/exemption levels for meldonium but the fight fell apart during the investigation.

I don't know why people expected a lifetime ban. Nobody ever gets blacklisted for one dirty test.

Even if he was cleared the first time, he was also busted for ostarine in December last year. I'm not expecting a lifetime ban, but 1 year is the standard isn't it? Russia even let him fight Duhaupas directly after the positive result. Does Russia just not have any anti-doping rules?

They must have figured out a way to beat the testing. Their next step will be to bribe the WBC.

So he's done with testing like a month out from the fight?

And he's passed tests before, only to fail on subsequent tests. As there's no organization sanctioning this fight, if he does fail a later test we'll never know because Povetkin's camp will never release that.

                    Time running out.

Povetkin is getting old fast. He'll be 38 next month. I'd figure he would be in his 40s before any sanctioned body would allow him to fight for a Championship. Sadly, I just don't see it happen Mr Gold
