Man o Man this fight scares me. Especially given Verdejos mental state. I have said it a million times, if he doesn't change his environment he will never live to his potential. He needs to move out of PR and just focus on boxing.

Verdejo is a nice kid, met him at the Jennings spzilka fight years ago. Shot the breeze with him for a few. That being said he's going to get wrecked. Good luck to him though.

I still don't think Verdejo is ready for the fight yet, to soon.

Verdejo has been given all the advantages that protection and home cooking can give and he's still going to lose to a guy with the same things going for him. If the fight were in PR then Verdejo might have a chance, but Manchester belongs to Flanagan.

Damn man your right the news came out right after memorial weekend I was on vacation so i missed it. Thanks.

Seems he is in Big Bear with able Sanchez. That is actually good news. He can see how champions train and he is not the star of the gym. Also he avoids all of the distractions of being a future star by living in puerto rico.

As BoxingScene.com recently reported, Puerto Rican lightweight star Felix Verdejo (23-0, 15 KOs) would train with veteran coach Abel Sanchez in Big Bear, California. After a few lackluster performances, there has been a lot of pressure on Verdejo to train outside of Puerto Rico to avoid the countless distractions. Verdejo's manager and trainer, Ricky Marquez, approves of the move.

Big Bear is no joke man, I think itll really help him for 2 reasons, he will get off that sea level training which will increase his endurance. & I always thought Verdejo would succomb to pressure, he will get good sparring in Southern Cali from pressure fighters which will help because he is very athletic, he just needs to learn how to use it...

I think his problem is mental, he was on the island where everyone was hyping him and telling him he was the best and the next Trinidad and so on and so forth. So to go somewhere and not have that constant pump up of the brain, and not have your boys asking to hang out on bikes, is the biggest benefit. The training is a +
