  • Comments Thread For: Yamanaka Motivated To Break Defense Record With Nery

When Shinsuke Yamanaka began boxing in high school, all he wanted to do was become a world champion. He accomplished that, but never thought his reign would last this long. Yamanaka, the WBC bantamweight champ, will face young challenger Luis Nery on Aug. 15 at Shimadzu Arena Kyoto, his Teiken Gym announced on Wednesday.

Nery hasn't faced anybody anywhere, but cherry picks at home. He's been down and lately they've really lowered the competition to make him look like a KO artist. His chances are slim and none.

You don't know sh.it about boxing.

You said the same with Berchelt vs Vargas and I said you that Miguel will be the winner.

It's not about the record, it's about quality as boxer.

Berchelt was k.o'ed and then he looked strong vs the best punches of Vargas.

Nery never was in bad state in those downs.

Yamanaka is a cherry picker, he only had like 3 good rivals.

Nery will kill Yamanaka, he has skills, he is very strong and has a great stamina.

Ah, and look the record of Estrada before the fights vs Gonzalez and Viloria.

And he had a down before the fights vs Viloria and Gonzalez(in the Sanchez fight).

Another one of your favorites? I better not say anything wrong about Mexican fighters? Is that it? Watch me. Nery has been KOing blown up flyweights, and old ones at that. He's getting set up. Berchelt still hasn't moved out of the B class. He was Loma's Mando, but he never pushed it. I wonder why?

Jajajaja Berchelt b class, he is an A class fighter and a top-5 of the weight.

And you are crazy, Berchelt all the time said that he wants to fight with Loma.

He was the mandatory for the WBO but Rocky Martinez ducked him and fought with Loma, then Miguel called out Loma.

You don't know anything but still opening your mouth.

Nery will kill this guy, Sanchez gave a hard fight to the filipino champ and Nery destroyed Sanchez.

Nery has never been out of Mexico, never been tested. Now he gets two tickets, a cheap hotel, and a week in Japan? Going to Japan is a lot harder than going to Indio and Yamanaka will be well rested. I respect Panterita for traveling and stepping up, but he's going too far (the first time) to step up so high. And as far as Berchelt, he is not a bad fighter, but Loma and Tank would get odds on him. I'd like to see him in with either one, but I think he still wants to fight Orlando.

Im not too high on Yamanaka. I dont respect him fighting nothing but part time sushi chef helpers and bumass latin fighters.

He is lucky that hozumi hasegawa and Nishioka arent fighting cuz they are better than him.

Nery has a great shot at beating this dude. Doesnt matter if Nery has fought nobodies cuz everybody fights nobodies until they fight somebody and this could be Nery's coming out party.

Did anybody think Uchiyama would get upset by some no name Corrales?

Anything can happen. Nery is no joke

So when's Yamanaka gonna fight outside of Japan? The Guy's a pretty good champion, but he'll never become a global legend until he fights overseas!

The 'Fierce Eagle's' record will be tied and Mejicos last hope is about to take another L at the hands of the TEIKEN GYM!
