That punch looked similar to a (inadvertent) palm heel strike. Although Kov is a strong puncher, that type of strike produces good power in general so it's no surprise he dropped Ward with it.

Ward didn't make the same mistake for remainder of the fight, I doubt Kov will be able to walk him into something like that in the rematch either....
