Ward is lefty iirc.. I don't know if it was his dad or Hunter who changed his stance from southpaw to orthodox when he was a kid.. left hook is Ward's best punch also btw..
Why Is Ward's Straight Right So Weak?

hes feather fisted, some people were born with power and he wasnt. instead he was born with the ability to bore people.Last edited by Madison Boxing; 06-07-2017, 11:43 AM.Comment

Converted southpaw, he hooks off his jab nicely and that kept Kovals right less active.
He will go to the body more often this time using both hands.
If he has success using that method it means Koval is not beating him using his right. If Koval can't close distance and get his right hand active the fight will be a repeat of the first one.
Hopefully this doesn't become to tactical because it will take away from the action.

He has a weak straight right because he is left handed. Many converted southpaws have a weak right hand and Ward is one of them. When he scores his infrequent knockdowns it's with a left hook and not a right hand.Comment

i don't know how weak it is but he barely used it vs kovalev, it was all jab and an occasional left hookComment

Those aren't very easy punches to throw especially against someone as quick and smart as Ward.
I am not a Ward fan but he adapts as good as anyone and I honestly don't think that Kovalev can pull that off.
I think Kovalev can definitely win but it's not like he's going to do what he wants in there.Comment
