Comments Thread For: DeGale: Groves Does NOT Deserve a 50-50 Split in Rematch

JAMES DEGALE claims George Groves would not deserve a 50/50 split if their long-awaited rematch was to be arranged. Groves beat DeGale on points in a closely fought bout back in May 2011 and a return clash has been talked about ever since. Groves triumphed over Fedor Chudinov in Sheffield last month to finally be crowned a world champion at the fourth time of asking.

Degale didn't deserve the nod over Jack, or Medina for that matter. Plus he's got a loss to Groves. What has he ever done to deserve to be the A?

I give props to DeGale for going on the road, but other than that, he hasn't looked that great since the Bute fight. However, he has faced better competition than Groves recently, so he should get at least 60% of the purse.

Won a world title in America vs. a top five opponent Andre Dirrell, defended the IBF in Canada, U.S.A against top and elite opponents while Groves was getting his ass kicked in the states - whats Grove done but lucked up vs. Chudinov in a early stoppage having a broken jaw IN his backyard with crooked officials.

James Degale is THE #1. super-middleweight in the world through hard work and sacrifice, daring to be great. RESPECT 'Chunky'!

They both look average every time out in my mind.

Groves is the bigger name. Degale the more solidified champ.

          50/50 is fair.

Degale doesn't really deserve the fight!

Move on George not much to gain from beating him a third time .

55/45 for Degale. Call it a day. Just make the fight happen

DeGale, who drew with Badou Jack in New York earlier this year, told The Mirror: "I was very close to fighting with Smith this summer.
                So the rumours were true

50/50 seems pretty fair be honest.

                  They both need each other.

I'd edge Groves as Degale is looking tired latley.

50/50 seems fair since Groves already beat him, Degale has it to prove not Groves.
