Why do people have gifs of a guy getting knocked down who then won the fight?

Difference there is that punch wasn't all that impressive due to Mayweather's backward momentum taking steam off it. He was never hit cold like he was against Mosley.

Another example is the wobble shot Bradley landed in the second Pacquiao fight. Best punch of the night, went on to lose the fight. Still a beautiful shot.

        Here's the deal.

REAL boxing fans can appreciate a beautiful, precision punch such as that one despite the actual outcome and despite who's getting hit. There's no other fighter who is able to throw like that except Klitschko when he isn't in his Grabomir persona.

It's like Mayweather/Mosley. Mosley's one key punch the whole damn night was perfectly landed, perfectly timed, but he was in there with the best and went on to get schooled. REAL fans can still appreciate the punch for what it was.

        Takeaway:

Casuals focus ONLY on the outcome.
FANS focus on the fight AND the outcome.
        That was a great shot.

What's also impressive about that, is that Mayweather, having never really been in that situation (getting rocked that badly) still knew what he needed to do in the situation. Instantly locked Mosley's arm to keep him from pulling back and throwing another right hand. Bought himself a couple of seconds.

Well why do people call fighters cowards bums and *****es when most of them would back out of a pillow fight?

Because they've never fought before and truly think they're right.

if you hang around boxing forums long enough you will realize there is a segment of people that live vicariously through certain fighters in order to soothe their real life insecurities
