Even most dedicated fanboys on this site don't think that Golovkin "went easy" on Jacobs. That guy is just talking out of his arse, don't associate all fans with him.

It is his first real lineal champ because the others like Cotto and Martinez wanted no part of him. Now Canelo thinks he slipped a little vs. Jacobs and is willing to take the gamble. The thing is that GGG wasn't in killer mode in that fight on purpose. He had to bait opponents and it finally worked. He just had to show a little glimmer of hope by not knocking a guy out.

This excuse has been going on since the Brook fight.

Most of them aren't like that but when i hear stuff like that it reminds me of a Marvis Frazier interview where he's talking about watching his dad Joe Frazier against Foreman as a kid. The first few times he gets knocked down he said he just laughed and said 'stop playing', then it kept happening over and over and he realised his dad wasn't playing and not a superhuman.

Something like that will likely happen to some fans when Golovkin loses.

OP is just as delusional. Probably one of those 3G haters who degraded Jacobs record prior to the fight just to discount 3Gs win. They'll cite the Pirog and Mora fights as evidence, which is like casuals believing in triangle theories. Fight is completed and now argues Jacobs won and made 3G look ordinary. The Pirog and Mora evidence suddenly disappears.

True. Fight was kind of boring but Golovkin did enough to win even though it wasn't exciting. Atypical.
