He'll probably still fade late, it's been a consistent thing in the few fights he has that hit the middle rounds. Kovalev is probably the most dangerous fighter in the sport early, but he can't keep up that insane sharpness for all 12. And really he doesn't need to, because even losing that sharpness he's good enough to win the rounds he needs.

Ward has to crack Kovalev's early dominance.

Well pace yourself then, I think it is quite important for boxers to go 12 rounds sometimes. Kovalev us used to KO all his opponents before the 12th round. it was only in recent fights that he went 12 rounds, so if the stamina isn't there then pace yourself and stop taking body punches.

Whatever your thoughts on the first fight, their second clash is the best fight in the best year boxing has had in decades. #1 and #2 p4p, both in his respective prime. Put the hate away, these are two of the best fighters in the sport today and they are fighting again!!! Neither one has the sexy name or an entire country (Britain, Mexico) behind him, but fights this freakin good don't need attention from mainstream media, because this fight kicks ass by itself. No need to get all heated up arguing, save that for afterwards, from now until June 17th just enjoy and relish such a special occasion.

I personally think Kovalev will do better, but I am always leery about when fighters find an excuse and claim they solved it.

Kovalev: last time the judges were corrupt, and I gassed early, and I hated my trainer..... but, it's all good now
