What a country we live In. This Is a prime example of why we consistently have repeat offenders. You can commit a felony like this piece of trash, run away from the scene of the crime, hire an attorney and get a few dollars In fines. There are no consequences In the U.S. for peoples actions. He should just enter a guilty plea in order to avoid jail time. They overcharged him in the first place because there was no way that should have been ruled a felonious assault. There was no great bodily harm or permanent disfigurement present.
