Winky Wright was a 154 lb boxer when Mayweather debuted in 1996 at 130 lbs. When Mayweather moved up to 147 in 2006, Winky Wright was already a Middleweight. In 2007 when Mayweather fought DLH at 154, Winky was fighting BHop at 170. Which means that during their entire careers, Mayweather and Winky were at least 2 divisions apart.

Paul Williams won an interim 154 lb title in 2008 and never defended that title. Williams was never on Mayweather's radar because Williams brought no titles, money or fans to the table. Furthermore, Williams won 1 title at Welterweight and then lost it in his 1st defense to Carlos Quintana.
