Comments Thread For: Kamegai Was Shocked He Got Cotto, Vows To Upset The Odds

Yoshihiro Kamegai views former four division world champion Miguel Cotto as the perfect opponent to catapult his career to the next level. Kamegai will face Cotto on August 26th, for the vacant World Boxing Organization (WBO) junior middleweight title. The contest will be televised live on HBO from Los Angeles, California. Kamegai (27-3-2, 24 KO) will be the first opponent for Cotto since November of 2015, when the Puerto Rican superstar lost a twelve round unanimous decision to Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

Kamegai, just go in there and give it your all and use the skills you have to the best of your ability. We know you'll give a good fight, even though I have Cotto winning by 8th round stoppage or so.

After this fight Kamegai can fight a couple of soft touches then guys like Guerrero in a rematch, Margarito, Andre Berto. Those would be good fights for Kamegai.

Good for him, and actually not a bad match for a returning Cotto. Should be entertaining, but Cotto should still have what it takes to beat Kamegai.

You too man. I don't post real often and sometimes get turned off by the cheerleaders on here trying to score points for who can make the shallowest point.

Oh boy, I know what you mean. I try to just ignore it. Sometimes we have our days when we're not able to though. So I totally get where you're coming from.
