That and/or a rematch with Jacobs. Loeffler, who has long ago admitted the whole 154-168 thing was a lie, that wanting Ward and Froch were lies, that G was happy fighting no names. Now Loeffler knows there is a very good chance G would lose in a mandated fight with Charlo. Worse yet, Charlo could win a purse bid and G would have to fight on Showtime or vacate his belt. Charlo-Canelo is already shaping up to the next real super fight. A few hardcore G fans and the usual Mexican diehards behind Canelo will give Canelo-G decent ratings, but Canelo-Charlo is the next mega-fight.
You're hallucinating if you think Canelito will go near Charlo.

He didn't go near him or his Brother at 154(or Andrade) and he sure as hell won't fight him at 160.

Say what you want, but as soon as another elite fighter moves to MW and is about to be G's mandatory G suddenly takes on his first true test as a pro. And he is only 35. Charlo and G have both beat ONE DECENT opponent. For someone sticking up for G, to insist on a boxer earning respect by fighting top opponents, well, that is what many label "The pot calling the kettle black."

Maybe the timing is a coincidence, but G's refusal to challenge himself his entire career until now does raise the question. Also, I'm not hating on G and would say he deserves to be a slight (60/40) favorite over Canelo and/or Charlo right now. Just G hasn't earned anymore respect than Charlo. Both have one quality win and that is it.

I think Charlo is a tougher match-up against G, than Canelo. Charlo has more boxing skill, while Canelo has heavier hands, but it is the moving and boxing (like Jacobs) that gives G the most trouble. That is what Canelo has to do to win, but Canelo is used to overpowering smaller opponents and fighting second tier opponents his own size. And as we said, Charlo is young and relatively inexperienced. Finally, the MW division has some meaningful fights shaping up.

You honestly think Charlo has heavier hands than Canelo???

Also, as long as Canelo remains the biggest ppv draw, he will eventually fight Charlo. Who the heck else is there??? Yea, after Golovkin (regardless of who wins) Canelo will take some "easy" wins Lemieux maybe, Billie Joe maybe, but after Golovkin, Canelo can no longer make 154, and outside of Charlo and G, there are no other big names or big money fights at MW. There is even less at 168.

Canelo fought Trout when he didn't have to. He fought Lara when he didn't have to. Charlo has more power than Lara, but is not the boxer Lara is. That is why many want Canelo to win, because he will take tough fights no one else (i.e. Golovkin) will take. Canelo-Trout was the equivalent of G-Jacobs. And Canelo took that at 21 or 22 while it took G until he was 34 to take a meaningful fight.

One punch ko power and heavy hands are totally different. Hopkins had heavy hands; Tito Trinidad and Antonio Tarver had one punch ko power. Every shot that Canelo lands hurts a little. Charlo can load up and ko with one punch, but when he is boxing to win rounds, a lot of his shots don't have that same zap. Heavy hands wear you down. Heavy hands and pure power are totally different things.
