I've watched enough boxing to know a fighter can't depend on a fair deal from refs or judges but it was hard to see a champ lose his titles in a fight where he threw more punches, landed more, had the challenger down once and stunned a few times.
Every time Ward touched Kovalev the crowd went nuts and the biggest cheer of the night came when the Russian slipped into the ropes sans punch. smh
I don't think the pro Ward crowd hurt Andre too much on the scorecard.
Kovalev dominated the first 6 rounds (has Ward ever looked worse?) The final 6 rounds were about even.
I had the fight 7-5 Kovalev and I was being charitable to Ward. I'm looking forward to #2 but without a KO, I'm resigned to a repeat of #1. No expectations = no disappointments. lol

ward did look past it but he went up in weight to fight the best of the division and made it close yet still gets no respect. Kov dominated maybe the first 4 but it became competitive after that... I can see why you say kov won but all the excuses and disrespect for ward from these posters is terrible

Interestingly enough there are parallels in both figths. Ward and Floyd's only objective was to survive, but Kov and Pac had to win by KO or do Guerrero-type of beating on Berto, which is a huge task against runners and clinchers. Unfortunately, both fights were awarded to the wrong undeserving people. It's not like this is rocket science where you have to take bacterial samples or do lenghty studies. It's all on captured on video. You are lying to yourself if you say this guy won the fight.
