Forget these Cowboy tickets. I'm going to watch this kid Errol Spence Jr 9-0 fight at DeSoto high school. High School football is bigger in Dallas than Errol Spence
Yeah much better fighting Bundu in bunker in Coney Island in front of like 500 fans who almost all paid to come see Heather Hardy the co-main event from Brooklyn NOT Spence. I don't care what venue you have in Dallas or what is going on that weekend it would of drew a bigger crowd. LMAO
Why fight and build at home when you can just be second fiddle to a female boxer who's now fighting in the MMA.
No promoter is going to do it unless you sign long term with them or have some sort of arrangement where they know they have X amount of future fights. If you are hired for 1 event and have no clue who Haymon will use for the next fight for 1 or all of the fighters on the card and you are paid a flat fee regardless of the turn out of the event what incentive is there for the promoter and what can be expected for them to do? Mayweather Promotions promoted the Phil Lo Greco fight, GYM promoted the very next fight and floyd hasn't promoted a spence fight since. After GYM, TGB Promotions promoted Spence's fight. GYM hasn't promoted Spence since. Lou Dibella then promoted Spence but were left out the cold for the Brook fight which was handled soley by Hearn and if he fights in Dallas Lou has no connections in Dallas and Hearn won't handle that card either.
So just in his last 6 fights he has had 5 different promoters all of which have no reason to go above and beyond to promote him because they have nothing signed and are just hired for that one event
There are pros and cons to that approach. The fighter has more leverage without being signed to a long term contract, and some fighters are so good (Mikey Garcia, Errol Spence Jr.) that not being signed doesn't mean not making money. This kind of relationship makes the promoter work harder for the event, because he's constantly trying to persuade the fighter. This does not persuade the promoter to go all out either! Once the fighter is signed, the promoters usually do what's best for their own interests and not the interest of the fighter. In the end, Errol still gets a date to perform in front of his fans. Pacquiao has not been able to bring a championship fight to the Philippines, GGG has not brought a championship fight to Kazakhstan, and Canelo has not brought a championship fight to Mexico. Errol is in good hands!
Tyson is actually a perfect example before he fought for a world title 18 of his first 26 fights were in NYC and 8 were in the Tristate area in NJ. He fought exclusively in the NY area as a young prospect. Then fought in Vegas and other places after he was a east coast sensation. Tyson fought all his showcase fights on the way up in and around his home. Spence has fought in literally every state but his home state. Much better to build your local following being a texas kid fighting in Florida, Canada and NY LMAO
You take TV dates over local fights. TV is how fighters are built now a days because boxing isn't as vibrant as it once was. New York doesn't even put on that many cards now a days. Go look at the NYSAC boxing calender. That's impossible to do now a days because there just aren't as many small boxing promoters putting on cards. There's more MMA small cards than boxing.

It was a TV date and guaranteed to sell. And the cowboys played that Friday. You don't get it and you never will because you probably live in the sticks where nothing is going on and you've never had to promote anything and get out here and convince people to spend money with you instead of the hundreds of other options on that weekend. Put a 20-0 prospect Errol Spence in Dallas on a friday night and the local high school football team will sell more tickets.

I'll put it to you this way. Imma take pictures at this local card I'm going to later this month. Then we'll continue this discussion

why you keep bringing up tv dates they had tv dates regardless where the fight ended up. Haymon bought the tv time but held complete control over the shows meaning he could put them on where ever with whatever fighters he wanted. Bundu fight could of been in dallas or texas just like any of the other 20 or so Spence showcase fights. Inexcusable for a kid from Dallas Texas to have only fought once his entire career in Dallas when Haymon is supposed to be the most powerful man in boxing with unlimited show dates spread across half a dozen networks and the ability to outsource any promoter in any state to work with. Haymon dropped the ball it's that simple. This is where having a promoter would of come in handy they would of made sure to make it a priority that this kid fought in Dallas and at worst the state of texas for at least half his showcase fights coming up and not in canada and everywhere but texas. Haymon just throwing a dart at a board putting on random fights in random cities with no rhyme or reason is a much better way to build up a fighter just look at those great Showtime ratings to prove it. LMAO

Those fighters are NOT from this country. If you are born USA and sign with the top promoters/advisers in your own damn country it should not be this difficult to land fights in your own city/state. Especially as a young kid and need tons of showcase fights coming up. Apples and oranges comparing foreign fighters. We are not talking about bringing Errol to a foreign land like Kazakhstan we trying to get this kid in Dallas.
memorial day weekend is one of the busiest weekends in america genius.... Just google it.... Look at the amount of money is spent shopping on memorial weekend.... People are with family or shopping or bbqing...its all good....
