Comments Thread For: Pulev Stands Firm on Getting Mandatory Crack at Anthony Joshua

Heavyweight contender Kubrat Pulev is still pushing to get his mandatory shot at IBF, IBO, WBA champion Anthony Joshua (19-0, 19 KOs). Pulev is the mandatory challenger under the IBF. But there is one big problem, there is a rematch clause between Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko. Back in April, Joshua got off the floor in the sixth round to stop Klitschko in the eleventh round round to unify his three times.

Ridiculous that the IBF made Pulev the mandatory. Pulev was destroyed by Klitschko two years ago inside 5 rounds.

Why is it ridiculous? He beat the great Sam Peter and Kevin Johnson.

Then let Anthony Joshua vacate those titles and have his rematch with Klitschko then. None of the sanctioning bodies have to sanction it. Neither the IBF or the WBA. Both Kubrat Pulev and Luis Ortiz have stated that either of them are not willing to accept set aside money at this time.

Pulev is a bit of a wanker tbh didn't want the fight when it was offered to him but now wants to kick up a big stink hoping he can pick up an easy vacant title. Hope he gets injured like glazkov did in the fight that would be sweet karma.

Pulev doesn't have enough punching power or defence to beat AJ.

Looking through the HW rankings, I see no one other then, Ortiz, wilder, and Parker, (the obvious ones), who can have any chance against AJ.

To my knowledge, Ortiz has never been in any trouble in the ring. His chin appears to be made of iron.

Other then Wilders right, and Parker getting lucky while putting in the fight of His life, Ortiz has the best chance of toppling AJ.

He just wants to put pressure on AJ to vacate. So he can fight Takam for the vacant belt. Hopefully Klitschko retires and AJ fights Pulev.

The fight was offered for 100k before he knew he'd mandated, only a fool would have accepted those terms.

Kalle Sauerland was being quoted not Pulev, get it together Boxingscene, the way you botched it sounds like Pulev is Miguel Cotto speaking in the third-person.

If the IBF were to strip AJ for honoring the rematch clause, then AJ should never fight for the IBF again!
