  • Comments Thread For: Stevenson: I Was OK After Fonfara Knocked Me Down in 9th Round

Adonis Stevenson wasn't worried. Even after he went down from Andrzej Fonfara's right hand in the ninth round three years ago, Stevenson knew he wasn't all that hurt. Fonfara's right hand hit the right side of Stevenson's face as the powerful southpaw was moving backward.

No ****, it was a flash knock down. Why y'all fighting again? Fight wasn't close. Not watching.

Well, it doesn't sound appealing, it screams of another blowout victory.

Nothing is guaranteed in boxing, just because you felt the first match was a blow out, anything came happen in the rematch. That's what make boxing a great sport. One punch can shock the world.

...and it's not pay per view....come on, be a good sport.

This rematch is **** and another example of Stevenson's embarrassing title reign.

The first fight was not competitive at all. Stevenson won the first 8 rounds handily including knocking down Fonfara. Fonfara won like 2 rounds including knocking Stevenson down (flash knockdown). But winning 2 rounds does not warrant a rematch.

Fonfara's last two fights have resulted in a 1st round KO loss to Joe Smith. Followed by last minute KO of whatever was left of Chad Dawson in a fight he was losing.

the first fight ******. people at the time made it seem like stevenon was out on his feet. stevenson went down from a flash knockdown and went on the win the rest of the round and the rest of the fight. I gave fonfara 3 rounds total, it looked bad at the time because Fonfara was an unknown, then he beat chavez and became over rated. stevenson doesnt even need power to beat fonfara he could out box him alone as fonfara is basically a poor mans gatti.
