I have showtime but didn't watch via tv because I was out, but I did watch it live on Showtime Anytime app. I'm pretty sure there's a lot of people who did the same, watch the fight on Showtimes app. So those numbers are pretty misleading since I'm sure they aren't factoring in the views the fight got on the app.

This is a kick in the a$$ for two great fighters in one of the most anticipated match ups of the year. They deserved more viewership numbers than that.

Cruz vs Mares was two years ago on ESPN, you moron. If those numbers are true, which they're probably not, compare those numbers with a Spence fight from two years ago.

A fight that's more comparable is Santa Cruz vs Frampton II, this year, which peaked at 643,000 views. A fight that took place during the NFL playoffs.

Yes, the Canelo/Smith did 300,000, but on PPV you dumbass. The replay a week later it did more than 200,000. In Mexico he drew 18 million views. Spence can't get a fraction of that in his home country.

Put Spence on PPV against a Liam Smith type and then compare the two.

You get ******er and ******er with each post.

I'm sure there was a lot more viewers than that. That is just Showtimes tv ratings. Plenty of people watched via SKY Sports PPV, and ******ing apps like DirectTV and Showtime Anytime. I personally watched on the Showtime app live which is not counted by the Nielsen ratings

I understand why the numbers are so low, the fight came on in the middle of the day. I had to miss it because of my sister-in-law mascaraed bday party. So the numbers are understandable.

The Nielson ratings don't mean much when it comes to Showtime because Showtimes offers there fights live via their app for all the cord cutters. The Nielson rating don't factor that in. Just like myself I'm sure there were was a lot of ppl who watched it via the app. I also watched the Joshua/Klitch fight via the app as well cause I wasn't home.

But that's the same thing fans do for just about every fight, even the ones that have big numbers, PPV or cable. And time of day factored in too perhaps.

correct. showtime allows live ******ing on their app and hbo doesnt, because it harms the publicly released number.

showtime makes it as easy as possible to watch their fights a variety of ways, regardless of the impact on the public number.

meanwhile, hbo is a giant pain in the ass because theyre obsessed with the public number.

im typically out of town on saturdays working as a broadcast analyst for various lower level fight events and showtime anytime is my only way to catch live boxing.
