i would assume so, he recently announced a training camp a few months back, but got injured again, hes nearly 39 i think so hes pretty much retired.

they need the big cuban dorticis (spelling) and glowacki, as they are legit top 5 guys and are always in fun fights.
Usyk HAS to be involved surely?!

doesn't look too promising for this tournament imo.
      I... ummm... is this sarcasm?

Would be hopeful of seeing guys like Mchunu, Makabu, Duradola, Dorticos etc on the list as they dont draw big crowds. Glowacki would be great. Kudryashov too. Such a good division to do this in with so many evenly matched fighters in the top 10-15

Usyk would obviously be the dream but i cant see it. Would probably try and 'do a Bute' by hanging back and trying to fight the winner
I'm not too sure if that ESPN list i put up was **** up to date. But yeah mate, i agree about Briedis. I'd probably only have Usyk and Gassiev higher than him at present.

Kudryashov is a good shout, i'd love to see him in the mix.
Usyk may be harder to get involved as you said mate. He may hold out for the winner.

$10M+ being up for grabs for winning 3 fights in a row is definitely too good to pass up for most cats so yea not surprised they got these good names + top guys. Betting Usyk isn't doable, but hoping I'm wrong. Also like to see Lebedev & Glowacki in this tournament.

Whatever happens great first 3 names.

            Cheers mate :ANYWORD:

Looks like his time may be up. A shame as he would of been another good name that could have been involved.

3 good names already included, it has nice potential this. If they can add some of the names you mentioned that would be great. Usyk would be the icing on the cake.

Yea that Cuban would be a nice addition too.

And brother I think Usyk probably isn't doable cuz he seems to have some sort of agreement with HBO. Even if his deal with HBO is over with his last fight HBO will have matching rights so as long as HBO is willing to pay whatever a Usyk would get paid for his first round fight he's locked in with HBO.

Sucks, but thats how the boxing business works & I got no faith HBO would "let him go" & maybe come back with a loss 12 months from now.

Hopefully the winner of Kudryashov/Durodola gets added to this. Mchunu fights next week and would be a good addition. Really hope we get Glowacki in here who is fighting in a couple weeks as well. On that same card as Glowacki is Masternak vs Sillakh, which might act as an eliminator for this tourney as well. Lebedev has a really easy defense in July, so I'm not sure if he will be in, but he would be a fantastic addition. I wonder if Mike Perez is trying to get into this tournament and that is why he jumped down to 200 lbs and is fighting next weekend? One other name to throw in there is Vlasov, who I think had a fight cancelled last weekend, he'd be another fun add on.

Agreed on Dorticos, dude should definitely be in - guys really not done enough with his career for whatever reason, and it's hard to see how he can make any noise without being involved.

And you're probably right about Usyk, which is a damn shame. If HBO have any sense they would let him go and treat it as an investment in the future - what is it, like a year and three fights? Hell Usyk would go in as a heavy favourite and would have every chance of establishing himself beyond all question as the ruler of the division and raise his profile far more than HBO could hope to do in the same period.

That said, I'm not actually sure what kind of deal Usyk has with HBO - if any. I know K2 have typically worked with HBO with Golovkin, but that doesn't necessarily put the same restriction on Usyk, who seems to be wanting to split his career between the US and Europe (where the rest of the top Cruisers are). Have you seen any info on this?

Yep, up to 3 fights. Its supposed to start in Sept/Oct & last til May so the better part of a year.

And yea idk exactly whats up with HBO, but my assumption would be some sorta agreement that would be ongoing or have refusal rights making it a potential ongoing relationship would be signed just cuz he's a young, talented guy who's already the #1 guy at CW in most pundits & fans minds which makes him of great value to HBO.

And it could even be that since he's already considered the #1 guy HBO or Usyk himself could just be like "ok you guys figure that out over there with who's #2 in the division & whoever ends up being the winner can come fight me late next year".

I'm rooting on Usyk being involved, but I got lil faith he will be. Regardless with the names involved already & the expectation of the other 5 being similar respected names its gonna be a high level, fun tournament with or without Usyk I think.
