How? Hes actually a pretty chit boxer. Other than some flashy hand speed he lacks good boxing skills, has no good defensive footwork and lacks headmovement as well. Just does a trash bootleg version of the shoulder roll and shakes his head when hes getting tuned up against the ropes.

He also doesnt seem to be able to make adjustments in a fight at all.

you just listed off things that are mostly not talents. fundamentals, adjusting, these are skills that you learn, not talents with which you were born and bring with you to the gym when you're a kid.

handspeed is a talent with which you are born, and broner's hands are fast and were even faster when he was in his prime, and dedicated enough to make 135 lbs. broner is a talented boxer. he's an accurate puncher, too, in addition to being a fast one. and he can crack a bit. he's not as talented as he was made out to be, but the guy could have been a championship level fighter and for a while based on the talents he's got. instead he became a sideshow because of his persona, and he's constantly in trouble with the law. looks like a drinker or worse, too. i have no reluctance in calling him a wasted talent. the next floyd? of course not. nobody really expected that. i did expect his talent to take him further than he went, and that's because he was too much of a bonehead to win his big fights.

This fight is pretty much a do or die for Broner. Everytime he's stepped up he's lost. Losing to a LW would discredit him completely.
