  • Comments Thread For: Miguel Cotto Has Next Fight Date Locked in For December 2

Los Angeles, California - On Wednesday it was officially announced that former four-division world champion Miguel Cotto (40-5, 33 KOs) had signed a multi-fight agreement with Golden Boy Promotions. Cotto had worked with Golden Boy back in 2012, when the boxer faced Floyd Mayweather Jr. and then Austin Trout. The Puerto Rican boxer then worked with his first promoter, Top Rank, for two fights, and then signed a deal with Roc Nation Sports in early 2015. With one fight remaining on their three fight deal, Cotto and Roc Nation parted ways a few weeks ago.

Golden Boy promotions doing great work! It's a no brainer partnering with Cotto promotions and taking the ESPN series to Puerto Rico.
They proving why they one of the best promoters in the business...

Sounds like a similar deal he signed with Roc! Its very hard to understand what Cotto is looking to accomplish during the rest of his career. It's very obvious he's looking for huge paydays but against lesser competition. He's not a huge draw but who is? Cotto would loose to all the top guys at 154. Holding a title only means you do not have face another title holder because all the belt organizations do not rank other champs!

Who cares about Cotto's cherry pickin arse. He needs to retire. All he does is avoid the top guys at 154, while cherry picking scrubs, or trying to call out lightweights.

I see more catch weight fights from Cotto with 147lb fighters or fight the bottom of the 154lb division.

Canelo vs Cotto 2 coming soon. Maximize money route. Even if Canelo were to lose to Golovkin.

No way Golden boy guaranteed the kind of money Roc did. This deal is probably a revenue share deal, which is the best way it could have been done.......

If he beats kamegai will have big fight in dec either canelo, marquez, bradley. With a dark horse opponent being brook who after his loss wants to move up to 154.
