Pretty Boy Floyd was that dude. Money Mayweather I didn't really care for. I like Spence as a fighter as well but I like watching all styles

Also, you're comparing a young Spence to an older slower Mayweather. The Floyd before 147 was a lot better offensively

He'll actually sacrifice getting hit on the inside, while you're distracting him with clinch and hit tactics, just so he can create space to punch.

Also, his inside body punches are actual body punches with maximum leverage, knees bent, hips and waist rotating, and digging into your body. He's a very rare fighter in that regard. And yes, I do understand forms of clinching and holding are boxing tactics, and smart during certain spots, but Spence is all about strictly throwing hands. No holding and hugging.
he takes a lot of solid punches in the process but good post

True, but the people who start these threads have short term memory. They constantly compare prime fighters to "Money" Mayweather instead of "Pretty Boy" Floyd

Always a good answer from Foxx. Yeah man I am not a fan of Mayweather but I respect him and his style created longevity and has been proven time and time again hes hard to beat.

Honestly I ALWAYS thought Brook was overrated along with his power, had Brook had some Maidana type power and hit Spence that clean, it may have been an early closing. Spence did show a chin though so cant take to much from him but again, you cant take that many punches, if he plans to move to 154 soon, hes gonna have to tighten up, those dudes up there can crack.

            The young Mayweather Yes.
Spence is a damned good fighter and I appreciate his personality..

I think Money Mayweather created hate because I recall him standing toe to toe. He outboxed a big puncher in Mosley center ring and was doing the same to a young ortiz before that fiasco ending.

But you can tell, it's not from lack of skill, but he's so confident in his power, and he's only worried about creating that space to start cracking.

I'd go with young Floyd who could walk his opponent down, beat them up, and still not get hit.

I love how Floyd always gets compared to these big WW's and MW's who start out with as much power as Floyd started out with at Super Feather. Compare Spence to like Leonard or someone who's as big as him and started at 140-147. Let's see Spence sock and bop at 160, which would be about equal to Floyd's 17lb jump from SFW to WW, there would be 4 spare lbs but 160 is good enough. He will have to change his style.

Exactly, Floyd in his prime was "skillfully" better than any fighter I've ever seen
