Andre Ward's Clinching "Skills" Revealed *GIFS*

Because the only gifs he used are ones showing Ward "clinching" but didn't show the ones where Kovalev put him in a headlock. So he's being selective. In terms of this fight there was nothing dirty about it. If you don't like his style I get it but it's not illegal or dirty. Again, if Kovalev won he wouldn't have made this thread. If you want to co-sign go right ahead but don't get sensitive about a word. I didn't.Comment

If almost all casuals, and even a some boxing die hard boxing fans hate Floyd, because of hugging and running or so they call it. It's no surprised ward ain't getting any appreciation.
Ward does all the tricks in the books. If he's still fighting at hopkins age, he'd be even nastier.
Well ward never reached super star status, and he deserves that. He might understood all of boxing dynamics but not prizefighting. Just like Rigo. (but I find rigo so much more amusing)
I never found him amusing or amazing or spectacular, but I do give him credit for dominating the guys at 168.
And he'd dominate golovkin too if ever they'll fight.
But I really do hope Kovalev KOs him.Comment

that wasn't weeks, the referee of that fight was cortezIs my Full Quote and I stand by that! If Kovalev doesn't get the KO early the fight will look like the second half of the first fight when Ward worked his way back into the fight by dictating and controlling the pace of the fight.
Tony Weeks does allow inside fighting! Only think about Weeks is that he is not consistent because he got criticized for stopping the Maidana vs Khan action for no reason and Rightfully So but then also people complained about him allowing Maidana to Rough Mayweather up in their 1st Fight. So honestly not sure how Weeks will call this fight.
He is not going to deduct for clinching or anything like that though like some are hoping would happen! We find out in a couple of Weeks!
btw, how is that picking him apart? i mean the second half of kovalev-ward. ward made it competitive, but hardly picking him apart.Comment

Learn something about reality ******. I hate watching a fkn hugging match as much as the next guy but in the states it happens all the time. No ref does $hlT about it usually.
Thats reality period. Im not talking about a fkn book.Comment

I'm assuming you must be really old so I'll take you calling me "Kid." However, I've watched most of Wards fight and I don't see him as a dirty fighter. His style is awkward and leads to a lot of head clashes. I don't think it's intentional but it's probably something he can fix and chooses not to. I have mixed feelings on him clinching. I don't think it's excessive, but I do think it's part of his strategy. If the refs let him or any other boxer get away with it then it's on the refs.
I don't need to watch the video because I'm sure it's probably edited to get the right to effect.Last edited by HarvardBlue; 05-31-2017, 09:25 PM.Comment
