    Kovalev, Jackson, Ward situation

What do you guys think is the Truth?

Do you think Team Ward called John David Jackson as Jackson said? or Do you think Jackson called Team Ward to switch teams?

There have been lots of videos, reports on this with Jackson, Kovalev, etc...

I've seen some of your opinions, some of you might know more information on this situation that you can share that we might not know about.

We know that there are some issues in Kovalev's camp for awhile now.

But what do you make of what's been revealed recently? Who do you believe? And what do you think is really going on?

Please discuss, Thank you for your input, information and opinions guys!

    Bless

I believe team ward called jdj before the rematch was announced. At that point it's likely kov is not in training, depending on their contract, jdj may effectively be a free agent at that point.

Jdj then took time and must have eventually responded to the offer with either an actual counter figure, or a straight no. But from the video with fight hub, it sounds like he did definitely consider it. Wards team then told Jackson to keep it quiet out of the media.

Jdj then told duva, and kovs manager klimas, who might have made their own adjustment to jdjs pay, but kov was not told. Then the slimy fkers at team ward released it themselves, **** move, if I was jdj I'd be calling out "wanting scumbag liar j Prince right in front of me to tell me to my face that I called him first. No gang****ers doing your bidding, smear my name, prepare for my fists into your face and fight like a man if you think you can lie in this way"

I think the truth is somewhere in the middle. I think J Prince planned to leak this info before he even approached JDJ regardless of his answer, but he didn't think John would actually be interested and ask 'how much'.

Win or lose, JDJ and Kova will end their relationship after the fight imo.

        Thanks for your feedback.

Just want to see what others know about this situation and if they heard or know of anything else that we might not to shed more light on this situation.

I'm trying to come to my own conclusion. I just want to see if there was any info I missed. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and what you know of what happened. It definitely sounds believable. It's unfortunate for Kovalev's team that this came out now the way it did. This is good drama for 24/7 on HBO though, Lol. I'm just trying to piece this all together.

          Yup, think so too.

Kovalev should talk to Freddie Roach and see if he's interested.

We saw on hbos fight preview show jdj is definitely annoyed that he couldn't give his strategy in the corner because a Russian coach had kovs ear for a lot of the fight. A guy who he'd just brought in, and jdj knew nothing about him.

I saw the video interviews with Kovalev and then Jackson.

Whenever Radio Rahim brought up the Ward story, Jackson seemed uncomfortable and was stuttering. Especially at the tail end he was stuttering a lot.

Even then, I don't take his stuttering as the man lying or trying to cover up. He could just be nervous and uncomfortable being put on the spot talking about an uncomfortable subject.

I definitely see your point about somewhere in the middle.

I think unfortunately too that after the fight we may not see Jackson and Kovalev working together again.

If they can work it out and work things out, great. But it's a difficult uncomfortable situation and hard to imagine.

After researching a little bit. I think John David Jackson was wrong to consider going over to Ward while training Kovalev for the rematch.

Go back to the press conferences where Virgil Hunter was mentioning turmoil in the Kovalev camp and that he didn't expect to see Jackson in Kovalev's corner June 17th. Virgil also mentioned Kovalev having a vodka drinking problem. How did Virgil know so much? Sounded like he had inside information. You couple that with Jackson not being there too.

Also during the interview yesterday of John David Jackson everytime the Ward situation was brought up he was visibly uncomfortable and was fumbling and stuttering. One thing that caught my ear was when Jackson said, "if they would've accepted my offer, who knows?"

All of this leaves me disappointed that Jackson would do or consider such a thing against his fighter. I know Sergey can be a douchebag and if Jackson doesn't want to deal with it anymore, that's understandable, that's cool. He should've cut ties and left Kovalev.

But negotiating and taking or giving offers to help train the enemy of your fighter that he's about to fight in a rematch is intolerable.

Really bad move by Jackson. Team Ward used him and exposed him. Threw him under the bus and made him to look a turncoat.

I highly doubt Jackson and Kovalev will ever work together again after this fight on June 17th.

I think Spence is the best welterweight in the world. I had him on my top 10 pound for pound best list even before he beat Brook based on the skills Spence had shown me. I know he never beat a top 10 welterweight before Brook. His skills, power, work rare and punching accuracy were there to be seen from the start. His vicious body attack is very impressive. I believe Jackson is telling the truth and is completely loyal to Kovalev.
