The offer Andre Ward's handlers made to John David Jackson to entice Sergey Kovalev's trainer to switch sides was substantial. It wasn't enough, though, for Jackson to seriously consider leaving Kovalev to join the camp of the fighter that beat him six months ago in Las Vegas. James Prince, Ward's manager, and Josh Dubin, Ward's attorney and adviser, told BoxingScene.com for a story posted Monday night that they discussed switching teams with Jackson, Kovalev's head trainer, several months ago. I believe Jackson's side of the story
especially if he talked to Duva and Klimas
and I like his reasoning about not mentioning it to his fighter
he reported it to the authorities, then went back to work
but the only real contradiction that seemed to come from the Ward camp was who initiated that particular discussion
i reckon Team Ward are lying, which is why they made it public
fair enough, I see why..... but I don't think that will affect Team Kovalev too much, it could even solidify them
Team Ward trying to rock the boat even more on Team Kovalev.
Prince told the media about it.
According to Jackson Sergey didn't know about it.
I saw the Kovalev and Jackson vids on their thoughts regarding the situation. Just hope they can work through this together. I feel bad Jackson was thrown under the bus. Makes me root for these two to overcome this situation and come out on top June 17th. That would be the ideal way for this to end for Jackson and Kovalev.
lost respect for team ward through all of this. why leak this to the media. All they did was put Jackson's character on trial. It makes him look like a rat. This should've been kept in the dark. It's no secret Jackson has been unhappy in that camp. That HBO preview show exposed it. but to leave and join ward is a snake move. He said kovalev didn't know. For him to find out through the media will result in jackson losing any credibility he had left. His days in that camp are numbered. Kovalevs manager will remove him. .and if kovalev loses again expect them to blame jackson even more than last time.
