Proof Kovalev doesn't listen to his trainer

Recently a huge article has been released on boxing scene about how JDJ the trainer for Kovalev called Andre Wards team and asked them if he could jump ship onto their team due to tensions with Kovalev not listening to his instructions in fights and in camp. The article can be found here: http://www.boxingscene.com/kovalev-t...d-team--117068

When the article was first released people of course had healthy skepticism about the authenticity of the article as Ward's team is known to play mind games and even admitted to spying on Kovalevs team to get inside information. However in the HBO Ward vs. Kovalev 2 preview released on May 30th, Kovalevs trainer JDJ (John David Jackson) admitted that Kovalev didn't WANT to listen to him because he brought another trainer from Russia to talk to him.

Jackson also states that this was the first time he ever saw this man and that he wasn't a fighter or trainer so he wondered why Kovalev brought him to the fight.

Go to 11:00 minutes and watch JDJ speak on it and since some people English isn't their first language or are not good at speaking it enough that they will catch on to what he is saying, I will put a transcript down below

Transcript: I'm with the fans going... seeing this fight here. Honestly Sergey brought another guy in from Russia to speak. So during the fight I was limited on what I could say. So how are you going to limit me on what I am gonna say when I have devised a plan for you to fight this kid. Now your going to another guy I don't know what he is telling you. I've never seen him fight, first time I seen him in my life. So I know he is not a boxer.

I guess the people believing that article were right... Sergey didn't listen to his head trainer and brought a random guy to help him? A rumor that has also been spread is that Sergey told JDJ to shut up so he could listen to the Russian guy speaking.

All of this doesn't make any sense to me. Why would Sergey bring a random guy over his trainer who spent months with him devising a plan to beat Ward? What are your thoughts guys? Will this affect the rematch?

ya JDJ is definitely a rat on the ship. he has passive aggression toward the man that pays him.

he put together the game plan for kov and yet he wasn't allowed to speak during the fight.

    i don't get it.

People act acting like this is a dispute within an NFL team where severance would cost both sides X million. It's boxing. They can probably part ways after every fight and haven't.

Conclusion: Situation is being blown out of proportion. Just two guys keeping their options open.

Yeah but let me ask you this. Why would he the head trainer the guy that was in the training camp with Kovalev since day one because remember he said he saw the Russian guy on the day of the fight, not before that. Why would he form a game plan for him to use in the fight but for Kovalev to tell him to shut up so he could listen to the Russian guy? Somethings up bro, this isn't being blown out of proportion...

That's the reason I am predicting Ward by easy wide UD in the rematch. Kovalev is nothing more than an arrogant fighter with power and good technique. When the tough gets going he collapses under pressure and the thing is there is nothing wrong with that. It's why you have a coach to help you when **** gets tough, the fact that you don't listen to your coach is bad news... especially one who was a good fighter and a good trainer.
